KHAMITES AIM:

 

TO DEVELOP AFRICAN ARTS AND CRAFTS PROJECTS/WORKSHOPS IN SCHOOLS EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SETTINGS. IT ENGAGES SCHOOL CHILDREN, TEACHERS AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS ALIKE IN THE CREATIVE PROCESS TO SHARE THEIR DIVERSITY AND THEIR CULTURE. IT ALSO TOURS IT’S WORK TOO ART VENUES CRAFT FAIRS EXHIBITIONS REGIONALLY AND NATIONALLY.

  

 


 Khamite is an interactive workshop that brings

 different African cultures to 5 - 11 & 11 - 15 year olds

 through African arts and crafts. Whose work cultivates

 a rich heritage of visual arts, music, dance, storytelling,

 drumming etc.  At the workshop the children will appreciate

 the African culture, through African children’s folk songs,

 dances, games and puzzles.  They will get to see and examine

 different artifacts, crafts and jewellery with a view to

 understanding where they come from, how they are used

 and what they represent in particular cultures.

 An example is carrying a child on their mother’s backs

 with African cloth known as ‘rappa’.

 

 

FULL DAY WORKSHOPS START FROM A BASIC RATE OF £250

(USUALLY TWO HOURS BEFORE AND AFTER LUNCH).

 

HALF DAY WORKSHOPS START FROM A BASIC RATE OF £150

(USUALLY TWO HOURS BEFORE OR AFTER LUNCH).
